That’s right, Batman and Catwoman. I loved the part where they got together in HUSH.
If you don’t know who his romantic interests have been over the years, here’s the relevant part of Wikipedia’s giant Batman article:
Batman is involved romantically with many women throughout his various incarnations. These range from society women such as Julie Madison,Vicki Vale and Silver St. Cloud, to allies like Wonder Woman and Sasha Bordeaux, to even villainesses such as Catwoman and Talia al Ghul, with the latter of whom he sired a son, Damien, and with the former of whom sired a daughter, Helena. While these relationships tend to be short, Batman’s attraction to Catwoman is present in nearly every version and medium in which the characters appear. Authors have gone back and forth over the years as to how Batman manages the ‘playboy’ aspect of Bruce Wayne’s personality; at different times he embraces or flees from the women interested in attracting “Gotham’s most eligible bachelor.”

Oh yes. Well, the story is all over the place. In theory, this would be a good comic to intro someone to Batman. Great art, a Bat-villain a chapter. But Loeb kind of makes the mistake of A) going too deep into Bat-continuity, a mistake you could say Morrison also made in his most recent run. But I digress. B) Loeb simply isn’t the greatest writer anymore. I used to like him on Marvel’s Colour line (Spider-Man: Blue, Daredevil: Yellow, etc. This might be due to Tim Sale though) and his Superman For All Seasons. But lately, and maybe starting with Hush, he hasn’t been on top of his game, sadly.
So, a woman gets murdered and Batsy is going to solve it. But it’s mostly a tale about Batman failing and as such I can see people hating it. Also, it meant 100 Bullets wasn’t coming out for a little while.
