Because it really does have everything on Batman.

Batman: Year One by Frank Miller and David Mazzuchelli isĀ the tale of Batman’s first year. Obviously. It’s fantastically written by pre-Goddamn Batman Miller and wonderfully illustrated by Mazzuchelli.
It’s more a tale of James Gordon though, but that doesn’t matter. It’s almost crime fiction. And so good.
So, on the Superman/Batman relationship.
I think they mutually respect each other, while disagreeing on methods.
Superman is the perfect man, the one we should all aspire to be. The savior of mankind, the God of Kindness.
Batman is the man we could be. The man who, without having any powers, says to crime “this far, and no further. No one will ever feel my pain.”
I think they’re buds. They are. Even buddies don’t see eye to eye on everything. But they can trust each other. Aside from his sidekicks and Alfred, Superman is the person Batman can trust. And what Superman can’t tell Lois, he can tell Batman.
So that’s my take on the relationship.
I’ve been neglecting Cover Friday. I’m sorry.
DETECTIVE COMICS #392

WOO. I love Dini’s Bat-Comics. And I like Zatanna!
A Knight And Squire ongoing with art by Cameron Stewart.

Happy Bat-Birthday me!

With DC’s animated movies being pretty damn good, which Bat-Comic would you like to see as an animated feature?
My vote, because we’ll never get as live action, is Dark Knight Returns. That or more Batman Beyond.
How about you?
