Finished the book… finally! All old strips are colored, the cover’s done, and I couldn’t be happier.

“Pandas Love Trampolines” clocks in at 102 pages and includes every funny strip from the last three years up to and including today’s! It will be available for the first time at NYCC this October!
So back to two comics a week starting next week. Thanks for sticking with the strip while I was working on getting the book together!

1. The sideways universe is a legitimate parallel universe created by Jughead going off. As each castaway is “awakened” in the sideways universe, they become who they had been before, just in a new context where they can reconnect and live together with the one they loved, happily ever after.
2. Smoke Locke was going to escape the island by moving his consciousness into sideways Locke. While operating, Jack is awakened, realizes what is happening, and must kill the Locke he is operating on. (Thanks, Lauren!)
3. HURLEY: You made a great Number 2.
BEN: Thanks, you were a great Number 1.
HURLEY: I mean, up until you killed me and took over the island.
BEN: Yeah….
4. Lapidus, in his walkie-talkie tossing mania, takes off before Sawyer and crew get to the plane. The plane soars into the air… and the backup bomb Widmore put in it goes off. Hurley later changes the rules and Sawyer and everyone else is able to leave the island another way.
5. In the sideways universe, Jack’s son ends up being the Man in Black. Jack can’t kill him. Ben does.

io9.com has a great/silly article up on the “8 Most F-ed Up Episodes of The Maxx,” the amazingly fantastic MTV cartoon (based on the equally amazingly fantastic comic book) from the 90s.
Great, because, man, did I love The Maxx. Hunted down every issue. Hunted down the impossible to find McFarlane Toys figure. Good times…
Silly, because there were only 13 episodes. Why not just do a “Ranking All The Maxx Episodes in Order of Awesomeness” list and include the other five?

The excellent Diana Stoneman, who does a webcomic called Sweet and Sour Grapes, crafted a papercraft Pinder for me that will eventually be available at cons!
I think I might even upscale him to have a giant one on my table.
Anyway, here’s my first attempt at assembling him at C2E2, please forgive the sloppy coloring job! (His arms even go up and down!)

So Desmond got Baby Jesica’ed by Smokey Locke last night. Which raises a big question: why couldn’t Smokey Locke kill him? Does this mean Desmond is a candidate, despite not seeing him listed anywhere?
And once the candidate is chosen, does he or she have to have an opposite? Does a new Jacob mean a new Smokey? Would a new Smokey have to have a reason to hate being on the island? Would a new Smokey have to have powers? Is Smokey Locke setting up Smokey Desmond?
And Sideways Desmond’s method of showing Sideways Hurley the truth is “love,” but his way of showing Sideways Locke is vehicular homicide? Guess Sideways Locke is going to end up under Sideways Jack’s scalpel anyway…
