Galaxy Force Starscream

Starscream

So I kind of lied when I said I was done reviewing Transformers for a while.

This Starscream is huge. And awesome. I’m one of the few who actually enjoyed Galaxy Force (The original Japanese version of Cybtertron). It was a fun show, with one of the cooler looking Optimus Primes.

Anyway, like I said, this Starscream is huge. It comes with the crown from the Animated Movie! How cool is that?!

He has some excessive kibble and what not, but that seems to be the style with the more recent Transformers series (Until Animated anyway)

Great figure. (Sorry for no alt mode photo. I’ve frankly forgotten how to transform him)

Revoltech Giant Robo

Revoltech Giant Robo

Revoltech Giant Robo was the first Revoltech I ever bought. I loved the OVA (Although it had horrible subtitles), so I bought it the second I saw it.

He’s just excellent. A great design.

It’s hard to find flaws aside from, again, badly hidden joints in his arms. There’s really not a lot I can say about the figure. It’s just great.

Revoltech Hot Rod

Revoltech Hot Rod

I promise I’ll get to non-TF toys soon.

Revoltech Hot Rod is the last TF Revoltech I own. He’s a great figure, with, as always, lots of extras. He’s super poseable.

I’ve never had much with Hot Rod, but this figure definitely won me over, with all the personality is has.

Al the Revoltech joints are nicely hidden, unlike with Starscream. All in all a pretty sweet figure.

Revoltech Starscream

Starscream is awesome. That’s a fact. He’s a treacherous, backstabbing ‘ally’ of Megatron.

Revoltechs are also awesome. So when they come together: Double Awesome.

As always this Revoltech come with multiple hands and an alternate smirking head. He also comes with Megatron in gun mode, as seen in the photo. He’s crazy posable.

It’s a bit annoying, maybe, that you can see the Revoltech joint pegs. Nothing major though, just a small thing.

A great figure, very much worth getting if you get some cash to spare.

Revoltech Megatron

I love Revoltechs. They are awesome Japanese super posable small figures, with some great detail.

First up, Megatron, the big bad! Despite being based on Pat Lee art (The reason I haven’t bought Optimus Prime from this series), he’s awesome. You can pose him in some great stands.

He comes with another, smirking, head and about 6 hands, which can be a bastard to get in, but are all great when you do.

I especially love this pose, smirking, pointing the gun at you. Just a great figure.

Beast Wars Megatron

Yes. Yessss.

Beast Wars Megatron is awesome. That’s science. I love the purple madman.

His figure is great, both in robot mode and in beast mode. He’s near perfectly cartoon accurate, and just beautiful.

Dino mode hides the robot mode extremely well. Like with Animated Grimlock, the tail feels a bit short, sadly.

All in all, a great figure.

I’m cutting it a bit short, but I’m still a bit sick.

Beast Wars Waspinator

May 11th, 2009 by Youri Zoutman

(Because my toy refused to transform correctly, I only have a robot mode pic. Sorry.)

I love Beast Wars. Probably my favourite Transformers series, next to Animated.

And Waspinator was always one of my, and many others, favourite character.

His toy is pretty damn great and articulated. The gun fires a missile, and he has one gimmick. An extra head. When they were developing the toys before the show, they decided on a bunch of stuff that got ignored in the show, like the extra head thing.

Wasp mode is very nice and sturdy, although the head has a tendency, at least on my toy, to get loose, which is why I don’t have photo of it. You can find one at the TF Wiki.

Animated Waspinator

“Why universe hate wazpinator?”

Okay, so he hasn’t said it on Animated yet, but whatever. Waspinator is awesome. His robot mode is great. Look at him.

His only gimmick, as far as I can tell, is that he can flap his wing.

His alt mode is great as well. I mean, he’s a wasp. Not much different you can do with it.

I love him and so should you.

Next review(ish thing): Beast Wars Waspinator!

Animated Bumblebee

May 11th, 2009 by Youri Zoutman

Animated Bumblebee is the fun loving member of Optimus’ crew.

He’s decent figure, looking very nice in robot mode. He’s got fold out stingers, and a nice smirk on his face. No real complaints here. But that brings me to alt mode.

As you can see, it’s very cartoon accurate. But the yellow on the doors is a lighter yellow as the rest of the car. Still, a minor complaint.

There’s not much to say about this figure other then he’s nice for a Deluxe. Worth the money? That depends on you and if you like Bumblebee. Luckily, I do both.

A short review, I know, but there really isn’t a lot to say about it. Should I fold a bunch of these shorter reviews together?

Animated Lugnut

May 11th, 2009 by Youri Zoutman
Lugnut. Loyal and powerful. And purple. Very purple

Purple. Very purple

Lugnut is the evil and very devoted Lieutenant of Megatron.

Robot mode is a very cartoon accurate reproduction, though sadly without a clearly marked Punch of Kill Everything.

He has a staff, with a single feature. The spikes pop out if you hit it in the floor. Nice, but kind of boring.

He has a very nice auto-transform feature, though, when going from alt mode to robot mode, part of his body tranforms itself. Might make the transformation too easy for some, but I like it.

Loads of guns.

Loads of guns.

Plane mode is very nice, which almost all of the robot mode hidden.

Again, very cartoon accurate.

As with all Animated toys so far, I give it thumbs up. Definitely recommended!
